had a spirit guide that came and helped me. and although i had seen her once before, the big time i saw her was when i had the horseback riding accident, and i broke my back. i was unconscious for a while, and i was laid up for a bit. as a kid, fortunately, i healed. i'm moving around great. part of that was not believing the doctors when they said, you know, you should be glad you can walk. you're lucky you're not dead. well, yeah, sure, but i wanted to do more. but we finally had to go to a chiropractor to find somebody who said, okay, maybe exercise is okay. maybe you can do jogging. maybe you can doing? something to strengthen your back. that's when i got into dancing and cheerleading which was physically great. i felt, you know, hey, i got my body back. and then, of course, just as you start to feel good, life has a tendency sometimes just to slap you back down. and it happened to me. i had some fun times, you know, cheerleading, did the tractor queen thing. i'm sure there's not a lot of people out there that would even admit they were tractor queen if they ever were. orwellian successor, big brother, is still seated on the wall. sorcery and witchcraft are more than mere metaphors. [inaudible] only a few years ago, the declaration denouncing the entire harry potter industry, the product of diabolism and abuse of impressionable minds. clerics of all faiths simply cannot bear the rapture of reality, never mind that all faiths are founded on that very exercise of imaginative projection. mind you, the position of the vatican could be put down to mere professional jealousy. [laughter] and i do not mean simply in the business of appropriating realms beyond the real. no, talking now material, you know, things. speaking of comparative earning powers. religious, religious stocks have been falling of late. imagine how much the roman catholic church has had to shell out in composition for sexual abuses of youth by its own priests. -- [inaudible] abused of their minds -- abuse of their minds continues to rake in the millions, but who knows? there the vatican would probably find support among us writers. no writer has the right to make that much money. and fog. at least in the morning hours, heather and ken, i like to talk about a big change in temperatures. cool down, i don't have it for tonight, pretty much stablizing, 80s inland and 60s for the coast. we'll make it more exciting tomorrow. >> >> a's try to keep their bats hot as they battle the twins >>> . good evening, everyone, welcome to this saturday night edition of sports wrap. after 2 impressive wins in philadelphia, giants have stumbled twice in cincinnati. also made news with another predeadline trade. things got off to a very bad start for starting pitcher, 3 runs already scored in the first inning when chris heise sent a hard grounder up the middle for a base hit. johnson, a 5-0 hole. coming back from the deficit -- pablo sand doe value did make some noise, he sends 1 halfway to kentucky for his 11th homer of the year, but this was void of significant giant scoring. bad luck here in the 4th when the reds scored 2 more. miguel single to the left side. balm gardener doesn't back up the play. charged with an error as the runners move up a base. frustrating for the giants. barr
than ten minutes so i'm not quite sure. i'll give you the big thing. this evening by a vote of 218-210 the house of representatives approve a republican plan and that would raise the debt limit by $900 billion initially then another $1.6 trillion sometime in early 2011, but it is all linked to a balanced budget amendment which, of course, the senate says is doa on arrival. and, in fact, they voted and basically said it's doa and on arrival. in the senate a democrat plan will be voted on tomorrow and the republicans in a sense are saying they will vote tomorrow to say it's dead before it even gets here. you can see these adults are really getting along with each other. but the reality of the situation is we are no closer to a deal. in fact, arguably, we're farther from a deal. for the last six days, the stock market has gone down 500, 600 points, and monday if there's not a deal, we might see the market go into some sort of a panic. that's a real possibility because the bad news would flow from that would just be incredible. now, the big problem is that if this happens, the credit o
know who you can call to get a cab. i am a big believer in pedestrian bicycling as options to get around town. many cities in the world have far more people working or on bicycles into blocking or on bicycles. they are pleasant most of transit and are efficient. -- many cities in the world have far more people walking or on bicycles. they are pleasant and efficient forms of transportation. that will take cars off the road and make it easier for those who drive. if we want to create a world- class transportation system, we have to make a commitment to each of these modes of transit to allow us to move where we need to go. >> is it safe for pedestrians on the streets? >> it is not. in recent years, we have had too many pedestrian accidents. there are estimates it costs our cities several hundred millions a year because of traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities. i am asking one of our transit agencies to study where we're spending our dollars around the district and whether we invested more money would help to reduce our overall costs that come when a pedestrian is hit by a car.
